Neo Primitive Stool 03

Neo-primitive is an object that materializes the individual uniqueness of trees which represents nature by aluminum casting. The collection shows an relationship between primitivity and modernity, and the boundary between nature and artifacts. It consists of a series of sculptural objects, chairs and a table that are creatively carved using natural elements such as branches and tree logs. The elements are casted into aluminum, while preserving nature's own shapes by sand mold. The results have traces of nature as itself, but are made of an unchanging material aluminum, which gives a paradoxical and mysterious atmosphere.
