Alabaster Medicine Bear by Herbert Halate

A plump slightly muted pink colored alabaster bear carved by Herbert Halate looking to its left side with turquoise inlaid eyes. Herbert has carved a long neck that juts forwards in an inquisitive gesture. There is a simple offering bundle wrapped around the girth featuring a narrow tear drop shaped turquoise bead. Nobody carves bears quite like Herbert - this lovely is waiting for a home. The Zuni believe the Creator made the bear to be a guardian for mankind.
