Immortals
“I’ve painted Josh Alison’s vintage Knucklehead concept bikes several times. When he showed me this one, I immediately thought, if I was an Angel, this would be my ride. Hence the marble angel sculpture. If you have followed my work for a few years, you have probably noticed I am attracted to history, from ancient to recent. The one thing I keep coming back to, is that the further back you go, the creations of mankind just get better. With my recent trip to Egypt, my mind was blown – seems the oldest buildings were the most profound. I love painting things that people spend inordinate amounts of time making special. This bike was one of them, so I wanted it to be in an environment of like-minded craftsmen. I also created this piece to speak to everyone about how blessed I have been by creating art of the Motorcycle. For nearly 30 years I have not stopped, as I know you’re all running out of wall space! So, I will be slowing down the amount to just a few epic pieces each year – – art you can watch me create from concept, drawing, block-in and then completion. Greg and I both agree, it will be a great way to contextualize each new piece. I hope you enjoy “Immortals”, and thank you for supporting my journey”.
