Chunky Victorian Sterling Silver Belcher Bracelet With Heart Charm
A wonderfully substantial antique Victorian sterling silver watch chain bracelet fitted with a large toggle ring, T-bar and oversized heart shaped charm engraved with an ornate script letter “F”. The bracelet is crafted in the ever-popular belcher style with bold round D-shaped links measuring an impressive 10mm wide. Solidly constructed in heavy gauge sterling silver, it has the satisfying weight and character that only genuinely antique pieces possess. Weighing an impressive 35 grams, this is a beautifully tactile bracelet with real presence on the wrist. Handmade in construction, the bracelet features figure-of-eight connecting links soldered securely to both the T-bar and oversized end ring — a lovely quality detail often seen in better Victorian chains. The softly aged silver, chunky proportions and classic heart charm give the piece an effortlessly stylish look that feels just as wearable today as it would have over a century ago. The bracelet carries very worn British hallmarks on the toggle ring, including a date letter “Z” which, together with the cartouche shape and font style, helps date the piece to the late Victorian period, circa 1899. Additional indistinct marks are present inside some of the links, while the heart charm is stamped “sterling” together with a partially obscured maker’s mark. The bracelet has been acid tested and confirmed sterling silver throughout. A superb antique statement piece with beautiful weight, quality and unmistakable Victorian character.
