A Book of Tulips (2027)
Embark on an extraordinary stitching journey with expert RSN tutor Zina Kazban. Across 10 monthly classes, plus a specialist lecture during the summer break, students will spend 11 months recreating an exquisite 19th-century embroidered book using luxurious silk and metal threads sourced from leading UK producers. Guided step by step by Zina, this immersive course offers the opportunity to develop advanced embroidery techniques while creating a truly heirloom-quality piece. The course is best suited to embroiderers with experience in silk and metal thread work, although confident intermediate stitchers are also very welcome. Optional finishing tuition may also be added, allowing students to choose between creating a removable chemise cover or a fixed cover in the style of the original historic book. For those wishing to complete the full book structure themselves, additional bookbinding tuition with expert binder Dominic Riley is also available. Dedicated materials packs accompany both the finishing and bookbinding elements, which take place at the conclusion of the embroidery process.
