Dark Indigo Hand-sewing Thread 1100 meters

30/2 cotton thread hand-dyed with natural indigo (1100 meters / 1200 yards) This thread has been hand-dyed dark blue at our studio in Ubud, Bali, using indigo dye made from Strobilanthes cusia leaves that are shade grown by smallholder farmers on Bali and Java. Having been fully scoured before dyeing and throughly finished afterwards, there is no residual dye that will wash out of the fibers. While indigo dye has good colorfastness to light, it is less colorfast to rubbing (which is why blue jeans fade) and this thread should be used with these characteristics in mind.
