Converging Rivers is an interdisciplinary learning program weaving the inner wisdom of Hasidic spiritual traditions with insights from modern psychoanalytic thought. Like converging rivers merging and mixing into a single, stronger current, the program explores how classical Jewish teachings and contemporary psychological perspectives can illuminate self-discovery, intimate creativity, and inner transformation. Through text study, reflective writing, and the tools of experiential engagement, participants encounter Hasidic teachings not only as historical sources but also as living psychological and spiritual resources. Drawing on thinkers from both traditions—Hasidic masters alongside psychoanalysts including: Carl Jung, Wilfred Bion and Donald Winnicott—the program invites participants to explore the depths of intuition, ethical growth, and interpersonal relationships. Converging Rivers is open to anyone with a BA who is interested in rigorous learning, open to contributing to group discussions and curious to utilize creative modalities to deepen understanding. The course is open to novices and advanced learners of all backgrounds and orientations.
