Royal Ruby Leucothoe is a low-growing evergreen shrub with a spreading habit. Its rich, glossy dark green foliage emerges ruby red and flushes burgundy in fall. Axillary clusters of fragrant urn-shaped creamy white flowers bloom from mid to late spring. Grows best in partial sun and rich, moist acidic well-drained soils. Leaves are highly toxic if ingested.
