Vikkel Twisted Stitches with Aleks Byrd

A vikkel is a twisted or travelling stitch pattern used in Estonian knitting that creates a narrow cable pattern without the use of a cable needle. These stitches create beautiful patterns and even braids that add dimension to your knitting. Students will knit a small swatch Date: Sunday, 30 August, 2026 Time: 9:30am Class duration: 3 hours in person. Cost: $160 (You also receive 10% discount on any purchases made in store on the day) Materials required: Needles: 4 mm for knitting small circumference (DPNs or circular needles for magic loop is also an option) stitch markers DK-weight yarn in a light, solid colour approx. 20g. Skill Level Advanced Beginner / Intermediate knitter: students should be comfortable to knit and purl in the round, reading from charts, cart on, and bind off Homework preparation Students will be given instructions to have their swatch cast on to continue knitting in the workshop Terms and conditions: Classes can be booked online. There is a limited number of spaces in the class but we can add your name to a waiting list if a cancellation becomes available. Full payment is required when booking to confirm your space. Minimum numbers: All classes require a minimum of eight people in order for it to go ahead. If your class does not have the minimum number of students, the class will be cancelled and you will be notified within two days of the class date of the cancellation. We are not liable for any additional costs incurred if your class is cancelled. If your class is cancelled you can either transfer the amount paid to another class or be issued a full refund. If you need to cancel, swap or postpone your attendance at a class, you can do so up to 7 days prior to the scheduled class date to receive a full refund. Less than 7 days notice, we cannot guarantee a full refund unless another booking fills your space. Once a class has started, we cannot provide a refund.
