Germany, RAD. A Rare Long Service Award, II Class for Women

(Dienstauszeichnung Reichsarbeitsdienst II. Klasse Frauen). Instituted 30 January 1938. (1938-1943 issue). Constructed of a silvered zink alloy, on loop for suspension from its period original bow tie-style ribbon with eagle device, consisting of a double-sided oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the top and bottom by ribbon, the obverse bearing a central raised mobile swastika situated within wheat stalks, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IM RIECHSARBEITSDIENTST” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE REICH LABOUR SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 32.68 mm (w) x 45.33 mm (h), weighing (weighing 25.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating minor loss of finish throughout the base metal, a scarce example in near extremely fine condition.
