Fluorite with Quartz

Bluish-purple Fluorite cubes are perched atop a Quartz crystal bed on this specimen from the Blanchard Mine near Bingham, New Mexico. The Blanchard Mine is a historic lead mine which operated in the early 1900's and is now under private claim. The unique hue of the Fluorite crystals appears to almost change color under different lighting conditions, transitioning from blue to purple.
