Wolf & Woman Syrah, 2023

Roasted blackberries, bright blueberry, chestnut, spice and faint violets. Palate is dark, delicate and gentle with nuanced robustness, structure and fine tannins with notes of espresso and hints of pepper intermingling. 100% Syrah from two regions: 90% from Malmesbury on red, iron-rich soils, and 10% from Riebeekberg on schist. The iron soils provide the aromatics with a denser tannin; the schist provides structure, concentration and grippy tannin. Jolandie Fouché is a passionate, precise winemaker making expressive, nuanced, contemplative wine. Wolf & Woman is an ode to both Jolandie and her wine: Beautiful with a touch of wild.
