Nepenthes ventricosa

Nepenthes ventricosa is one of the parent species of Nepenthes ventrata. This is an incredibly easy species to care for, it is not picky about temperature fluctuations and tolerates lower humidity than other species. N. ventricosa is endemic to the Philippines where it grows in the highlands of Luzon, Panay, and Sibuyan Islands, though it can thrive in lowland to ultra highland conditions, even average household conditions! It makes sturdy and trustworthy hybrids. Nepenthes, like the other carnivorous plants are pet safe. They can be included in bioactive enclosures, as well, but they will need an isolated soil or moss section to grow in, as their roots are sensitive and require distilled water and low nutrient content substrate.
