40s Wide Necktie Op Art Vintage Escher-Style Horses Novelty Print Barney's Chicago VFG
The novelty print on this 1940s "bellywarmer" necktie is spectacular. It reminds me very much of M.C. Escher's work, but perhaps a bit more humorous. It's easy to spot the first few horses in closeup profile - scrolling green with curling pink and white manes & jaws. But wait! The dark blue areas that you thought were background are horses in profile too, with pink eyes and mane! The fabric itself is smooth and silky to touch - not sure if it is indeed silk or rayon. SIZE: Widest point - 4.75" (12 cm) Length - 54" (137 cm) TAGS: Barney's Men's Wear, Chicago CONDITION: On close inspection, I see a small subtle spot at the very tip - see closeup. To my eyes it blends in with the print. No other issues noted.
