Firework Green
Tea: Yanhuayu / Lvyangchun (烟花雨 / 绿杨春) Type: Green Tea Harvest: April, 2026 Area: Jiangsu, Yangzhou, Yizheng Producer: Juyuanchun / Master Yi Tasting Notes: Cream, Sweet Pea, Cake, Orchids A light and delicate green tea made of the Longjing #43 cultivar. Following the vision of Derek’s tea master Yin Wei, this a green tea that represents the best that Yangzhou has to offer. It is not a grassy, single note Lvyangchun, but a floral and creamy green tea worthy of a national tea master: Firework Green. This tea has none of the toasted chestnut fragrances associated with dragonwell, instead has a bouquet of spring flowers, baked cake, and cream. The brew is gentle and sweet on the tongue with more vegetation than a lot of other neighboring green teas. This tea does well both gongfu brewed and brewed grandpa style in a large glass, as it is very slow to bitter and retains its sweetness. There persists a sweet pea or fresh green bean fragrance on the wet leaves, through the first few infusions, but the soup remains pleasantly sweet, floral and herbaceous. You can enjoy it either gongfu style or grandpa style in your favorite glassware or mug.
