SPAIN : MANCHUELA : CASTILLA-LA MANCHA Bobal MED-BODIED, BLACK CHERRY, DARK PLUM, MINERAL, USED OAK Head-trained Bobal vines planted in 1941 between the Júcar and Cabriel rivers — the "11 Pinos" name marks the eleven pine trees at the edge of this specific block. Chalky limestone at 805 meters, more than eight decades of root depth, low yields from old gobelet vines. Fermented in stainless steel and rested three months in used oak. Bobal's signature tannic grip is present but polished — firm enough to hold food, approachable enough to drink on release. Mineral drive runs underneath ripe dark fruit through the finish.
