Lawrence Martin Kling's jewelry often incorporates boomerang-like shapes and he was masterful at varying this form in numerous ways. In these earrings bent ebony is intersected by pearl-tipped silver, with the back being as finely finished as the front. Lawrence Martin Kling (1921-2014) was a California studio jeweler known for his hand-wrought jewelry and sculptural, organic forms. Often his jewelry is accented with wood, as with these earrings.
