I had no idea it would become my first viral mosaic… or spark a completely new direction for my art and business! Since then, this piece has become one of my most requested designs, and with new orders coming in, I decided it was time to share the magic with you. For the first time ever, you can recreate this beloved design at home with a fully curated mosaic kit featuring all of the special materials that make it so iconic. This project blends many of my most cherished mosaic elements, including: Vintage China Metallic gold seed beads (that I personally sourced from a vintage supplier in the NYC garment district!) Handmade 24 karat Italian gold leaf smalti, Czech glass pearls Anthropologie latte bowl pieces (gasp- because their colors are unmatched!) The original latte bowl color has since been discontinued and quantities are limited. When it’s gone, kits will feature a beautifully complementary replacement hue. (The whimsy stays, the color story shifts slightly, each kit remains unique!) This kit is a wonderful introduction to picasette (broken china mosaic) and mosaic beadwork. Plates are pre-cut for safe shipping but will need shaping as you create your layout, an enjoyable part of the process that makes every piece truly one-of-a-kind.
