While designing the Statement DC MK II cable, we were not satisfied with the DC plug options on the market that predominantly features brass contacts, plastic dielectric, with joints and seams to make the complete plug fit to a cost but is detrimental to sound quality. Hence, we decided to design our own true audio grade PLiXiR Barrel DC plugs to address all these issues. In our view it is absolutely the best DC Barrel cable plugs on the market with the following features: Pure copper outer body and inner barrel with gold plating. No joints on the outer body. Fully machined 1 piece construction for direct soldering. Absolutely lowest impedance for DC ground. Teflon dielectric insulator for noise and vibration isolation. Proper solder contacts for the best cable connection. Carbon fiber body shell for vibration damping and no eddy currents. With a freer, less inhibitive sound and purer tone over conventional DC plugs, there are also much more natural nuances to the sound that is musically very satisfying.
