Classic Magnetic Travel Chess Set - Boxwood with Rosewood or Ebony

A travel set that doesn't apologise for being one. The board folds shut inside a zippered canvas case, the men hold their squares by magnet, and the whole thing closes mid-game without losing the position - set it down on a train table, zip it up at the station, open it again in a hotel room with the pieces exactly where you left them. The men are turned in boxwood, paired against either an ebony-dark or rosewood-red finish. The pattern is compact Staunton: short-stemmed, broad-based, cut for the scale of a small board rather than shrunk down from a full-size one. Each carries a magnet seated in the base - strong enough to resist a knock, light enough that pieces still lift cleanly between fingers. The board itself is a printed playing surface set within a wooden frame, hinged to fold flat into the case. The interior is lined in green felt. Three sizes, from a 20 cm board that slips into a jacket pocket to a 30 cm that holds up as a desk set.
