Wolzak works with textiles, sculpture, and applied art, creating pieces that combine visual richness with a strong conceptual foundation. Her practice is characterized by a constant focus on themes such as gender, climate change, and historical representation, as well as by a distinctive use of materials and colours. In her works, Wolzak combines textiles, embroidery, wool, leather, and unconventional materials – such as yarn that glows in the dark – to create compositions that are both tactilely and visually complex. Materials play a central role in her practice: these elements are not merely aesthetic choices but are inextricably linked to the narratives woven into the work. Through their textures, colours, and associations, they contribute to and reinforce the themes she explores.
