Fair Isle Cowl
Fair Isle knitting is a centuries-old technique of using two colors in the same row to create designs in your knitting. In this class, you'll get an introduction to this fun and beautiful technique while creating a colorful cowl. What you'll learn How to hold and manage your yarns How to maintain tension How to read a chart Materials Pattern included 3 colors of DK weight yarn (we recommend Double Sunday, Alpaca Wool, or Scout): 50 g of 2 contrasting colors and 100g of the main color. 16-inch size US 4 and US 6 circular needles, Stitch markers, darning needle. Please come to class with the ribbing completed: Using the smaller needle, cast on 132 stitches and work K1, P1 rib for 1 inch. Skill level This class is for graduates of Knit 2 or those who are comfortable knitting and purling in the round. Sessions Tuesdays, October 13 + 20 from 6-7:30 PM
