2022 L'Arco Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore

This is the wine you need to drink with bolognese! Medium-bodied, fruity, rich and lush. Made in the Ripasso style, with aromas of ripe cherries, dried fruit and cassis, complemented by hints of cinnamon, pepper, and orange zest. On the palate, it is generous and ripe with intense tannins and great depth, leading to a very long and intense finish. Out of all the local grapes, Corvina is generally regarded as the finest and is certainly the most traditional. Depending on the vintage, 15-20% of potential Amarone (the barrels that don’t make the long aging required by Luca), a wine made from 100% 120 days air-dried grapes, is blended into a wine where grapes have not seen any ‘appasimento’ processes.
