Take an adventure outdoors with Tākaro! x Scouts Aotearoa Broaden your Te Reo knowledge so you can korero around the ahi kōpae (camp fire) on your next pūpahi (camping) trip. Each card displays a selection of symbols, each with a direct Māori translation that players will learn and memorise. During play, players flip over two cards and race to identify the matching symbols. The first player to correctly call out the associated Māori translation wins the round. Tākaro is suitable for ages 4 and up, with each round typically lasting 10-15 minutes. The game draws on the recognition of 57 unique symbols and encourages the correct pronunciation of their Māori names. By the end of play, players will be able to confidently recall a range of symbols and their corresponding Te Reo Māori translations, helping to broaden and strengthen their vocabulary.
