In this beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of relief block printing and repeat design while creating your very own hand-printed bandana. Start by designing and carving your own printing block, then mix a custom color of water-based block printing ink. You’ll practice printing on paper and fabric before taking your design to its final canvas: a BANDANA! Along the way, you’ll explore the magic of repetition—one of the most powerful tools in pattern design. Experiment with orientation, alignment, spacing, and rhythm to transform simple shapes into intricate, dynamic patterns.
