Midcentury 5-Stone Diamond Ring
Circa 1950. This platinum diamond demi-band was crafted by Jabel, one of America's most respected jewelry manufacturers. Five round brilliant-cut diamonds totaling approximately 0.57 carats are set across the top of the band in a refined midcentury design that showcases the exceptional workmanship for which Jabel became renowned. The diamonds exhibit VVS2-VS1 clarity and G-H color. By the 1950s, brilliant-cut diamonds had become the standard for maximizing light return, and jewelers increasingly favored sleek platinum mountings that showcased a diamond's brilliance without unnecessary ornamentation. The gently curved top and closely set diamonds create a continuous ribbon of light. The ring is signed "Jabel." Appraised Value: $4,100
