Oman Glorious Fifteenth National Day Medal The Oman Glorious Fifteenth National Day Medal, also known as the Oman Fifteenth Anniversary Medal, was instituted by Sultan Qaboos on 18 November 1985. Its Arabic transliterated title is: Midal al-‘Aid al-Watani al-Khamas wa A‘ashir al-Majid The medal commemorated the fifteenth anniversary of Sultan Qaboos’s accession to the throne of Oman in 1970. It was awarded to qualifying service personnel and employees of the Omani Ministry of Defence who were serving on 18 November 1985. The gold-coloured medal has a scalloped edge and is suspended from an ornate bar. Its red ribbon features four narrow green stripes and four narrow white stripes.
