Pinus pinea – Stone Pine

Pinus pinea, commonly known as Stone Pine, Umbrella Pine or Italian Stone Pine, is a long-lived evergreen conifer renowned for its distinctive broad, umbrella-shaped canopy and Mediterranean character. A graceful landscape tree, it provides strong architectural form, generous shade and year-round evergreen interest. Highly adaptable and drought-tolerant once established, Stone Pine performs well in sunny positions and can cope with relatively poor, rocky soils.
