Jean-Claude Duboys (1938-1999) was a French designer, interior architect, and educator renowned for creating elegant, lightweight, multifunctional furniture and lighting. His work combined structural intelligence, comfort, foldability, and refined simplicity, anticipating many of today’s design concerns around sustainability, adaptability, and efficient use of materials. He graduated first in his class from ENSAD Paris and became an influential figure in post-war French design. His work continues to be exhibited, collected and studied internationally for its relevance to sustainability, compact living, material efficiency and human-centred design.
