2018 Chateau les Tourelles Cadillac Noble Late Harvest

Purchased in 1938 by Jean Darriet—a sixth-generation winegrower—this estate has always been naturally suited to white wine production. Total area of 10 hectares: planted with 50% Merlot/Cabernet Franc and 50% Sauvignon Blanc/Sémillon. A single, contiguous vineyard block with a steep slope. Limestone bedrock; plateau featuring fine clay-gravel soils. The grapes are harvested by hand in successive passes (up to five) to select only the best bunches, which are then pressed whole without crushing. The juice undergoes settling before being transferred to barrels, where temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation proceeds until it stops naturally. The alcoholic fermentation is slow and gradual. The wine is then racked, fortified, and returned to barrels for aging. It is aged in tanks for approximately 12 months. Tasting Note: Intense nose of white fruit—apricots. Rich, intense attack on the palate with notes of apricot jam. Lovely texture and a very smooth finish. Great length and aromatic intensity.
