Unlabelled German violin, mid-late nineteenth Century
This characterful, European, nineteenth-century violin is boldly carved and has a very attractive, narrowly-planed back. Details of the construction indicate in was made in Germany, probably in the Vogtland, and in a smaller, more individualistic workshop. The tone is warm, resonant and clear, with a good core and plenty of colour and character. All registers are even and well-balanced. This will make an excellent choice for an advancing player.
