Nearly at the top of a long countryside climb, I stopped to rest and take in the view. The gentle shape of the land, shifting cloud shadows and soft colours stretching across the sky made the uphill ride well worth the effort. It was a peaceful moment in a beautiful landscape, and one that stayed with me long enough to find its way back to the studio and into this little painting.
