Bolivia Collasyuo La Paz
Bolivia is a relatively new market for coffee growing and specialty coffee since the 1970s to diversify their agriculture industry. The La Paz region is the most well-known coffee growing region in Bolivia in the Andes Mountains. This coffee comes from the Cooperativa Aljiri, an organic coffee farming cooperative made up of 19 family-owned farms. Not only is the cooperative committed to using organic and sustainable farming practices, but they also use a gender focused approach to empower women producers in the co-op. Cooperativa Aljiri is expanding and increasing their production capabilities by acquiring more land and growing new varietals.
