Andy Taylor Custom Swagman | Translucent Blue | AUS | 2025

Built in 2020 and reworked by the original builder in 2025, this Andy Taylor Custom is arguably one of the most beautiful, eye catching instruments to come out of the luthier’s Northern Beaches of Sydney workshop. This guitar, dubbed the Swagman (erring on the side of swagger, rather than an old timey Australian transient worker). Was originally translucent brown with a B5 Bigsby fixed to the top and traditional Gibson style humbuckers. It has since been reworked with stop tail bridge, Australian made blade humbuckers and resplendent blue translucent finish, highlighting the stunning figured maple underneath. The guitar is constructed with an African mahogany body, quilted maple top, PNG rosewood neck and topped off with highly figured, quilted maple fretboard. At 3.14kg (6.9lbs) it is nice and light with good balance and no neck dive. This guitar features a big, clear sounding set of blade humbuckers, which are wired to engage coil splitting via two push/pull tone pots, making this guitar exceptionally versatile.
