Hearthstone Stoves Bari Freestanding Wood Stove
German-Crafted Rotating Wood Stove with TruHybrid™ Catalytic Combustion The Bari Model 8171 pairs HASE's German steel craftsmanship with HearthStone's TruHybrid™ combustion system, rotating a full 180° so the fire view can follow you around the room. Key Features TruHybrid™ combustion system combining primary and secondary combustion with catalytic tertiary combustion EPA certified at 0.94 g/hr particulate emissions under the 2020 EPA particulate standard 75.9% HHV weighted-average efficiency, measured across four burn-rate categories Rotates a full 180° — up to 90° to either side — with a curved glass window presenting a fire view spanning up to approximately 225° Heats up to 1,400 sq. ft., depending on home insulation, floor plan, stove placement, and fuel quality HeatLife™ of up to 14 hours, per current HearthStone consumer literature Built-in ash pan with a convenient ash-removal grate system Eight factory finish configurations spanning steel, ceramic, and soapstone Designed and manufactured in Germany by HASE Product Features German HASE Design The Bari is designed and manufactured exclusively in Germany by Hase Kaminofenbau GmbH of Trier. HASE precision-manufactures its steel, ceramic, and vermiculite components in-house, forming high-quality thick-gauge steel with modern processes to achieve a refined level of fit and finish. The result is a sleek cylindrical stove intended to complement contemporary living spaces. TruHybrid™ Combustion HearthStone's TruHybrid™ system combines primary and secondary combustion with tertiary combustion through a catalytic combustor. The catalyst becomes active at approximately 500°F, burning smoke and remaining particles that were not fully consumed in the firebox. A supplied catalyst thermometer indicates when the stove is in the active range, and a bypass control directs combustion products around the catalyst during startup and reloading. Under specific EPA test conditions, the Bari delivered heat at rates ranging from 14,065 to 26,036 BTU/hr. 180° Rotating Fire View The Bari mechanically rotates a full 180° — up to 90° to either side of center — with 13 selectable positions controlled by a push-button release behind the lower control door. The stove can also be locked in a fixed position using the supplied rotation-lock procedure, which permits installation on a smaller hearth. The large curved glass window presents the fire across a viewing arc of up to approximately 225°. Natural Convective Heat HASE stoves are built in two layers. The inner steel body provides structure and controls combustion, while the outer finish panels create a convective air channel that circulates warm air through the room and reduces the outer surface temperature of the stove. Available Finishes and Configurations The Bari Model 8171 is offered in eight current factory configurations. All configurations share the same firebox, combustion system, and performance specifications; pricing varies by finish. Visit our showroom to see finish samples and discuss availability. Clearances to combustible surfaces may be reduced only with an NFPA 211 approved wall-protection system. Installation restrictions: This unit has not been tested or recommended for alcove installation. The Bari is a freestanding room heater and is not to be installed in any factory-built fireplace. Keep furniture, drapes, firewood, and other combustibles at least 36" from the stove. Flooring caution: Some luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and luxury vinyl tile (LVT) flooring can begin to warp at approximately 110°F. Consult the flooring manufacturer for maximum temperature recommendations; additional shielding may be required depending on the flooring used. Mobile and manufactured homes: The Bari 8171 is approved for U.S. manufactured/mobile-home installation under the listed requirements of the current owner's manual, including installation per 24 CFR Part 3280, permanent attachment to the floor structure, outside combustion air in all mobile-home installations with a 4" fresh-air intake (using the 90-53308 adapter), an approved mobile-home chimney and connector system with spark arrester, and no installation in a sleeping room. The current manual calls for the Mobile Home Lock Down Kit 91-99400 for the required structural attachment; this kit does not appear on the current dealer pricing sheet, so verify current availability with our showroom or your installer. This unit is not approved for mobile-home installation to Canadian standards.
