Inspired by the black sands & secluded coves along a 6-mile stretch of beach on the South Coast of Jamaica. Lush waterfalls abound, & critical biodiversity can be heard teeming in the remaining cloud forests, including the endangered Jamaican Blackbird. Amber Helios, the Greek god of the sun, had a son Phaëton with a river nymph. When Phaëton died, his sisters' tears are believed to have turned into amber. Amber signifies courage & self-confidence, & has been used traditionally by ancient healers to improve memory, increase mental flexibility, & nurture balanced decision-making. Most often linked to the Sacral Chakra (2nd Chakra) for emotions, creativity, & sexual energy, as well as the Solar Plexus Chakra (3rd Chakra) for personal power, confidence, & willpower. In China, Aventurine was the sacred stone of Guanyin Pusa, the goddess of compassion & unconditional love. The Tibetans used Aventurine to carve the eyes of statues, which might be why some also believed that wearing the stone improved myopia, which is the condition that causes far-away objects to appear blurry. Aventurine is associated with the 4th Chakra, also known as the Heart Chakra, & is believed to encourage emotional healing & self-love, bringing harmony & balance to the heart. Its gentle energy is thought to soothe emotional wounds, nurture action & leadership, & provide an opportunity to release self-doubts. Perseus temporarily placed Medusa's head on a riverbank, where he witnessed her blood turn the seaweed into Red Coral. As a result, the Greek word for coral is 'Gorgeia,' since Medusa was one of the three Gorgons. The Romans hung pieces of coral around the necks of their children to shield them from illness & danger. Worn by a woman, coral was a charm against sterility. Linked to the Root Chakra (1st Chakra), Red Coral is believed to be connected to physical survival, grounding, & stability.
