Norside shares their latest full-length album, 'Coal & Soul' from Color Red. The album highlights the band's Rust Belt roots by capturing the grit and groove of Pittsburgh, blending blue-collar energy with deep soul-jazz tradition. While Norside's sound is built around the classic organ trio format, 'Coal & Soul' pushes the retro trio approach forward with contemporary grooves and improvisation, as well as the occasional featured addition of horns, including the afrobeat-infused title track "Coal & Soul." With much of the album's material developed on stage, including a run supporting The New Mastersounds for their final US tour, 'Coal & Soul' aims to bottle the chemistry and spontaneity of the band’s live performances.
