Sterling Silver Jelling Serpent Earrings

These Sterling Silver earrings are done in the style of the Jelling Art Period. This Period lasted from around 900-975 A.D.. They are heavier and longer than most of my earrings. Jelling art is distinguished by elegant, ribbon-like animals with long, slender bodies that twist and loop into flowing, asymmetrical designs. The creatures often have almond-shaped eyes, curled lips, spiral hips, and intertwined limbs, creating a sense of movement and energy. Unlike later Viking art, Jelling designs are relatively open and uncluttered, allowing each animal form to stand out while still weaving gracefully through the composition.
