Preserving Its Appearance Leather is sensitive to natural elements. Water, direct sunlight, excessive heat, humidity, or dryness may affect its color and texture. If it gets wet, gently blot it with a soft cloth to prevent marks or blistering as it dries. Avoiding Common Mistakes Leather doesn’t take kindly to excess. Substances like ink, lipstick, and perfume can cause permanent stains. Likewise, repeated contact with dark or abrasive fabrics may transfer color onto lighter leathers.
