Two hundred and fifty years ago, a few stubborn idealists decided they could do things their own way. We've been doing the same thing in Brooklyn since 2009 — so this one's our flag in the ground. The 1776 is our signature espresso, built to mark a quarter-millennium of American independence with a cup worthy of the occasion. Expect a rich, full-bodied shot with deep notes of dark chocolate and toasted nuts, balanced by a smooth, lingering finish that never turns bitter. It pulls a gorgeous crema as straight espresso, but it's just as at home in a moka pot, a drip machine, or a French press for those who take it black and strong. Roasted in small batches and here only for the anniversary year — once it's gone, it's gone.
