Ballechin 12 Years Old 2013 Jurancon Cask Itineraires 700ml | 48.2% ABVThis 2013 Ballechin was matured entirely in Jurancon wine casks, pairing the distillery's peated Highland malt with the fruit and lift of south-west French sweet wine. The result sits in a more aromatic and honeyed register than a purely bourbon-cask peated malt.The nose is abundantly fruity, with ripe stone fruit, floral honey, fresh herbs and soft peat smoke. The palate follows with white fruit, golden honey, gentle spice and a refined smoky backbone, finishing long on honeyed fruit, herbal freshness and warming peat.
