Vintage 9ct gold and Black enamel cross pendant, North Star, Religious jewellery

This beautiful vintage 9ct gold cross pendant is both striking and symbolic. Rich 9ct gold with a dark black / brown enamel which gives it a more edgy feel than simply a gold cross. It is a 3d tubular style cross, hollow in the centre with an integral gold bale making it ready to wear. The darker enamel could lean towards it being a mourning piece however the front of the cross is engraved with a beautiful North star, symbolic of guidance and protection. It makes this piece extra symbolic and it looks beautiful hung from a simple gold chain or it could be added to a neckmess with other pendants or charms. Marks and era: Late 20th century era, c1970s, unmarked, tests as 9ct gold. Condition: Fair used condition overall with signs of age and use, there is a mark to the front left corner and the black enamel has lightened or worn with some lightening and some small scratches and dings.
