How to Use Place a charcoal disc into a heatproof incense burner or bowl filled with sand. Hold the edge of the disc with tongs and light using a match or lighter. Allow the disc to spark across the surface until it becomes coated with a light grey ash (approximately 2–5 minutes). Add a small pinch of your chosen botanical blend or resin to the centre of the disc. Add more as desired throughout the burn.
