Vintage ENGLAND made Blue and White Paste Ring, 9ct Gold and Silver, size O or 7.25, 2.54g

We don't do a large amount of paste (gemstone glass) - but when we do, you better believe it is a goodie. We have NEVER seen these hallmarks before! Yes - we have seen the 9ct &SIL - this combination was popular in the 1940s and 1950s - but the "ENGLAND" - well that stopped us in our tracks. As you will know the UK is meticulous in its records for gold. Every assay office has its own symbol, every year has its own mark. So this - is a first for us. We had read that smaller jewellers used "9CT" alone - much like Australian smaller jewellers (this is all pre 1973 remember) - but we had never seen that "ENGLAND" mark. We feel that the perfect English girl in Aus is going to feel this calling to them. Particulars: Size O or 7.25 (sizeable) Weight 2.54g Width 9.2 x 17.4mm x 5.7mm proud on knife edge shoulders tapering to a half round shank of 1.4 x 1.1mm Hallmarks "9CT & SIL" "ENGLAND" Condition - this is a vintage ring - the paste stones have scratches to the face, the band is narrow (made that way) and there is lovely patina build up in the silver - this can be polished out by a jeweller - but cannot be put back by anything other than time - so we have left it for its new owner to decide. Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things). Jewellery should be inspected checked every six months by a jeweller to check for wear. Please be aware that this item is pre-loved and therefore is NOT new. Stones may have tiny marks, chips or flea bites, metal will have marks of wear like surface scratches; but any bigger flaws will be clearly highlighted above. Also note - none of the other items or props in the photo come with the item and all measurements are approximate.
