Both. Each Pismo is built to order for the fuel you select—natural gas or liquid propane. Converting between fuels later is not a simple swap; it should be performed by a qualified gas professional using the correct orifice and components. Does a gas fire pit give off real heat? Yes. At 80,000 BTU the Pismo puts out noticeable radiant warmth across a seating area while staying cleaner and lower-maintenance than wood. It is designed as an ambient fire feature rather than a furnace-style patio heater. Which ignition option should I choose? Match Lit is the simplest—a manual key valve with no power required. Spark Ignition with Flame Sense adds an automatic safety shutoff if the flame is lost.
