Vintage Jakarta White Teak Low Counter W/ Butterfly Repairs

Sourced from Jakarta, this low counter is crafted from solid white teak, a dense, richly grained wood prized for its durability and warm, weathered tone. Decades of use have given the surface a soft, sun-bleached patina that only genuine vintage teak develops over time. What sets this piece apart are its hand-cut butterfly joints, traditional wood inlays shaped like bowties that were used to stabilize natural cracks in the timber as it aged. Rather than hiding these repairs, they're left on full display as a mark of craftsmanship and history, turning a practical fix into a design feature in their own right. Low and long in profile, this counter suits a range of uses: a sideboard for serving, a media console, or an entryway landing spot with real presence. It's a piece that rewards a closer look, equally functional and full of story.
