This lot comes from CAFESMO, a cooperative of about 280 smallholder families farming the mountains of Ocotepeque in western Honduras, near the borders with Guatemala and El Salvador. It’s a young-grower-led co-op known for pushing quality. Their farms sit mostly between 1,200 and 1,600 meters under heavy shade canopy, mixed with fruit trees, avocados and beehives. This selection comes from around Mercedes. It’s a natural process, so the whole cherry dries in the sun with the fruit still on the seed. That yields a big, juicy cup with deep fruit sweetness and a heavy, syrupy body. Expect notes of ripe berry, dark chocolate and a wine-like finish. Long Bend is our microlot label, reserved for rare, small-batch coffees we think deserve their own spotlight. This one is certified USDA Organic, sourced through direct trade, and roasted cinnamon in Manchester, NH to let the fruit come through. It’s limited, and it was first poured only at our café. Now you can bring it home. Available only in Whole Bean and Roaster Ryan creates the roast level. Agtron reading is listed on the package.
