NEW! Original mixed media painting/Flukes

An original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue. 2026 has been a bumper year for seeing 'Whales' around Orkneys coastline which in turn inspired me to paint this picture of all the different 'Whale tails' or 'Flukes'. The whales in our waters are all identified separately by the markings on thier tails and often have thier own names. This beautiful textured mixed media image is painted on to a hardwood box canvas with a mixture of vintage collage including an Orkney map and music sheet along with several layers of acrylic paint. Framed in a light wood moulding 10mm wide and 40mm deep and unglazed so you can feel the texture on the board. I have varnished the painting with matt acrylic varnish to protect the surface. The overall size framed is 435X435mm with the actual image size being 400X400mm. This painting is fitted with D rings and string, ready to hang on your wall.
