Judith Beck “Bambule!” Muskat is an aromatic, ripe muscat from Austria’s eastern Burgenland region. Muscat Ottonel grapes are hand-harvested from very old vines before left on the skins for 10-12 days to extract aroma and tannins. Muscat Ottonel is a low-acidity grape, and Muskat Bambule! ‘…benefits from the tannin structure on the palate’. Expect aromas of tropical fruits, blood orange, and rose. Ripe and round without being cloying, a balancing acidity keeps the wine fresh. Light tannins and a long finish. A balanced and expressive aromatic white wine. Judith Beck’s winery operates as a family business. Since 1976, the area under vine has grown from 5 to 15 hectares. Most of the vineyards lie in the Wagram of the Parndorfer Plate, the region’s most important site. Since 2007, Judith has crafted wines following biodynamic principles. She practices a viticultural art of healing, using nature’s remedial qualities to strengthen the plants’ natural resistance. They apply self-made cattle manure and cultivate grass between the rows to encourage humus formation. Judith also uses herbal teas and biodynamic field sprays to enhance the physiological ripeness of the grapes. Ultimately, she seeks a balance between authentic individualism and a healthy terroir, a goal she achieves with grace and humility.
