It is also beneficial to have the option of 'hindsight' by storing more hours of footage in case you want to look back at footage that isn't locked, for example, when the Police ask for footage. You can provide power to your dashcam by either the cigarette lighter, USB-C port or your car battery using the hardwire kit.
